3 Ways to Keep Your Body and Mind Healthy
1. You Don’t Have to Go to the Gym. Just Regularly Move Your Body
We’re in the 21st century and we’re living busy lives. Doctors often tell us to get more exercise, but how can we possibly make time for more physical activities when there are already so many things to do? Fortunately, I have a simple solution for you: instead of running on a treadmill or lifting heavy weights in the gym, just regularly move your body between your tasks.
So we get to the next question: how should we move our bodies? While it is very difficult to answer this question in a sentence or two, one advice I can give to you is that it is always ideal to make your body joints move in their full range of motion. For instance, you can readily train your shoulder by regularly moving it in every possible way. You can do internal rotation, external rotation, extension, flexion, flexion with internal rotation, and many other things with your shoulders.
It is even better to do exercise of higher intensity, but that would require extensive knowledge of human anatomy. I am planning to share several moderate intensity exercises in my blog over time so you can regularly check my blog out if you need help regarding that aspect.
2. Eat Less Sugar and Carbohydrates. Eat More Protein and Fat
Well, this may sound too obvious but it is quite important! I’m not telling you to NOT eat any sugar or carbohydrates. They are essential nutrients. What I’m saying is that it is not a good idea to make a meal plan heavy in carbohydrates. When you are hungry, filling your stomach with food rich in fat and protein may be better for long-term weight loss and overall body health.
3. Don’t Busy Yourself With Irrelevant Thoughts. Only Think Thoughts That Are Worthy Enough
Not all thoughts are worthy and relevant to everyday lives. We may observe the world, think about what’s around us and even imagine surreal things and all are perfectly fine. However, some thoughts, especially those that make you anxious, are likely to be unnecessary. One tip for dealing with such thoughts is to not interact with them. Be aware that not interacting doesn’t mean refuting or consciously ignoring. What I mean by not interacting with a thought is to maintain a state in which you know that the thought resides in your mind but do not refute it, think it over, agree with it or do any other actions with it.
By the way, not all thoughts are worthy so make sure you make a habit of accepting worthy thoughts only. That will help with stress reduction.
