How To Tell Apart OCD Thoughts From Normal Thoughts

The method is simple.

 

Let’s say that you are worried about something. If it seems like the problem can be solved by doing something that you are capable of doing, then you are having a normal thought. If it feels like you can do nothing about it, then you are having an OCD thought. Moreover, normal thoughts often do not cause anxiety. Therefore, presence of anxiety is indicative of OCD.
