#5: Dotonbori
Dotonbori is one of the most popular choices among tourists. Positioned between Namba and Shinsaibashi, Dotonbori serves as one of Osaka’s major downtowns filled with restaurants and shops. Dotonbori has great restaurants and the menu is diverse, ranging from okonomiyaki to ramen. I would personally recommend any tourist visiting Osaka, Japan to include Dotonbori as part of the plan.
#4: Shinsaibashi
Shinsaibashi is not a historical site or a specialized commercial center. However, positioned between Umeda and Namba, two popular places for the tourists, the district has wonderful architectures, Daimaru department store and great shopping malls, making it one of the most attractive places to visit during a trip to Osaka.
#3: Umeda Sky Building
Umeda sky building is where you can see the panoramic view of Osaka. The building has many aesthetic features that were deliberately installed by designers and constructors of the building. Once inside, you’ll be able to see a detailed account of what individual installation means and how they were implemented.
#2: Namba Station
It’s not the station itself that is notable, but the department stores and shopping malls nearby. Namba station is connected to some of the best shopping centers in Osaka including takashimaya department store, namba city and namba parks. They have many wonderful restaurants and clothes stores, and thus are must-go for avid shoppers.
#1: Osaka Castle
One of the most renowned historical sites in Osaka, Osaka Castle is one of the must-visit places in Osaka. While the castle is often crowded with people waiting to enter the castle, the process for purchasing the ticket is very efficient, so you don’t have to be scared by the length of the queue.
Once you get inside, you can see many historical artifacts and texts. The place is not so distant from Umeda or Namba, where many hotels are located, so it would always be a good choice to visit the castle and appreciate its beauty.
